Some NCAA history, not a given every year, but solid. Hopefully we can improve on the overall record. I'd like to see us make the NCAA's 3 out of every 4 years. That would be an awesome goal.

We sure didn't have much to brag about prior to 1985. One Final four in 1944! Anybody remember that?
The two first-round turds really hurt the overall record.

No. I had ISU beating LSU and Wisconsin then losing to Auburn.

I do think we win though and at the moment I think it will be by a decent margin.
Same here, I had ISU in the sweet 16, but I did not have a lot of confidence.

The only thing that makes me really worried about Miami is that playing against a bad defensive team is great, but usually that just means more open shots. It certainly wouldn't be a surprise if our guys are getting lots of good looks and still shooting poorly. In some ways though I think Miami is the "right" kind of bad defense for ISU to beat. They still extend and gamble, so there should be opportunities to get to the rim. With their lack of depth I hope our guys attack the rim all night and create some foul trouble for the Canes.

you are picking me apart on this :)

To be fair, they could have called it on someone else, but Kunc was right there. Anybody have a link to the game that I can go back and research? I can only find find a condensed game on the march madness site.
I believe Kunc actually got fouled before the shot. Bad timing.

Edit: I thought initially they had called it on Kunc and think it got reviewed to see if the shot was before the foul occurred.

I think this guy's breakdown (guy on the right) is spot on of what to expect from the game. So much doubt over Iowa State but most people fail to realize that Miami lost to Boston College just a few games ago, at home.

Interesting that they point out that Miami cannot defend the mid-range. Time for our seniors IZB and Gabe to go to work.

I don't want to call you guys liars or anything, but Kunc had 4 fouls and I'm pretty sure they were all defensive.
You are correct. They called the foul on the Wisky player running into Kunc, which wiped the Iowa State 3 off the board as the whistle sounded just prior to Grill's release of the ball.

Maybe this guy was just stirring up the pot for clicks, but it was nice to see a reseed that wasn't just a blue blood ranking

Even if he is hunting for clicks a bit, I agree with his takes more than most of the other talking heads.

I also loved this little snippet from his Providence breakdown:
Providence does have five players scoring 9.9 points per game or higher. But evidenced by an Iowa team the Friars didn’t run into, it takes more than offense to win in the Tournament, especially in the deeper rounds.

Was it the Baylor road game when Conditt got whistled for the foul trying to get into a defensive rebounding position on a 3, he got called for it, and the 3 went it? So they got the 3 and 2 FT's...bad luck.

Expanding on that, for giggles, here are rough brackets using that re-seeding and distributing among four regional sites … I kept S-curve mostly intact, but swapped two region placements to avoid in-conference for regional semifinal (ISU/Tech, U-M/Purdue). (I prefer our actual draw/site).

[A] San Francisco
1 Gonzaga
4 Saint Peter’s
3 North Carolina
2 UCLA

[D] San Antonio
1 Arizona
4 Arkansas
3 Iowa State
2 Villanova

B Chicago
1 Kansas
4 Michigan
3 Duke
2 Houston

[C] Philadelphia
1 Purdue
4 Miami
3 Providence
2 Texas Tech
