I know that we're all feeling down, but I did want to try and think about some positives.
  1. Tyler Perkins was awesome at holding the ball for Kyle K. He fielded a couple of ground ball snaps today.
  2. Will McLaughlin had 2 sacks in the 1st half. The first sack helped lead to a punt and the 2nd sack kept BYU to a field goal. Not sure I saw him in the 2nd half.
  3. #25 (Josh Patterson) who I have never seen on the field before and is not on the depth chart, but he had a nice PBU on BYU's #11 that kept BYU to a FG.
  4. Abu Sama looks like he keeps getting better. I don't know RB stuff, but it looks like he is starting to make the right cuts/reads vs trying to bounce everything outside.
  5. Carson Hanson looked good. Glad to have him back.
  6. Ben Brahmer is incredible. I think TEs in general are amazing.
  7. Kyle K is back which is great.
Feel free to add anything I missed. Only positive things here; no negatives. Negative stuff is for other threads.

Maybe he has been one of the walking wounded? He had a hurt back until at least November last year.

One big positive for me is that the BYU game is over and the most negative fan I have ever been around is no longer behind me. Dude cried about literally everything that went wrong.

Our family has had probably the worst 2 weeks you could have without death or illness. Real life changing stuff that could affect lives for decades. How's that for dramatic?!? But seriously....

So needless to say for our Iowa State loving family, we REALLY could have used a win to get our minds off the **** show that we've been living. So the game was real disappointing. But I had to find some positives and I think there were some. The running game was good. A lot of the mistakes were self-inflicted which means they can get fixed. The defense was good (for a time). Rocco was really good in the first half.

Anyway, I hope the team flushes it and gets back on track. I still love these players and coaches and I still think they are awfully good.

I don't think my problems will be solved by next week, so a win would still really help us out ;)

I'm pretty up on the roster, but I'd literally never heard of Josh Patterson.

Eli Green had a nice series at the end of the game. He's shifty like Townsend, but bigger/stronger. Good hands.

Our WR usage seems somewhat scatter gun. Not sure if it's because some of the top guys makings mistakes/drops or if we have 6+ guys who all deserve to play (aka Green & Brown).

Biggest positive is that many of the hurt players who returned looked mostly healthy and played pretty well. We also seemed like the early season ISU for most of the first half.

Great first play and play call.

Flora looked tentative on punts and dropped that touchdown pass, really a shame his touchdown run was called back for a hold I certainly didn't see live but hope he is a threat in special teams again soon.

Konrady was solid, I was worried he might have lost his confidence. Hopefully healthy enough for kick offs next week.

Sama had a nice run or two but caused many groans in my section when he missed holes. Hansen was great, just didn't have the speed to finish his long run.

Big Citrus looked better.
