Agree with this. Now will Sanders and Hunter play in the game? Probably shouldn't but maybe Deion will have them play at least for a bit.
Very fair point.....also.....random thought....could a bowl independently pay NIL to Hunter? Meaning, we all know that a likely Heisman winner and exciting player gets eyeballs and ticket sales.

Because it’s still the regular season and these guys are competitors. Skipping an exhibition a month after the season ends, cool. Don’t skip the season (which these guys aren’t)

Not to mention all these schools still have a shot to get to the B12 championship
I don’t agree with skipping a bowl, but it’s the day and age we are living in. It will start happening in regular season games though, 100%.

You like players skipping football games? Aren’t you the one saying everybody needs to pay up for nil? We should pay money to players who don’t play in certain games? Sounds like the direction the NBA went many years ago
Regular season I hate when they quit on the team. No ones doing that at ISU so this isn't something that's relevant. I'm fine with a player skipping a bowl if they have high-tier pro potential, like Breece did with us a few years ago. Not gonna make me stop giving to WW

Hopefully this DOESN'T happen but if we lose the Big 12 Title game there is a pretty good chance we play Colorado in the Alamo Bowl (San Antonio) correct?

I guess it is possible the Alamo Bowl could also select BYU over us who I think their fans would also travel pretty well to that Bowl.

They are going to have conference teams play each other?

For this bowl season Colorado is still considered a Pac 12 team bowl affiliate and you know the guys wearing Bowl Blazers will do what they can to get Coach Prime. Forgetting that their 2 best players probably won't play or play very little in that game.

Prime says they’ll play. He has to put that out there so a “good” Bowl Committee will select them.

Jerry Palm has us in Orlando playing Clemson. Has the Alamo Bowl as BYU vs. Colorado.

I also think players opting out of bowls is bad for the sport, even though I can see the thinking behind it.

What that’s done is turned bowl games from end-of-season celebrations of a successful season (well, at least before we got so many bowls that sometimes 5-7 teams had to fill in spots) to the first preseason exhibition game of the season to come featuring young unknown players hoping to get on the field next year. Not nearly as much fun, IMO.
