ISU +14.5 against TCU

Listen. ISU was ahead with a couple of minutes left in the 3rd quarter. This was not an old fashioned beating. There were still plenty of chances to take this one. At some point the D is going to break when you leave it on the field for most of the game. The Iowa game could have gone the wrong way... but it didn't. Is TCU really that good? I guess we will find out this weekend. Go Cyclones!

Yeah, I think people are really forgetting this. Even with an absolutely horrible offensive performance we were still in that game until there were only a few minutes left.

If our line can stiffen up a bit and actually block people there is no reason we can't go down to Fort Worth and beat TCU. As I've posted before, with this defense we don't need a world beating offense. We just need an offense that isn't horrible like it was on Saturday.

And if our line can't... well, it's almost basketball season.

Looks like the line has dropped from 14.5 yesterday to 10.5 today. I think people are seeing that TCU's offense isn't all that great either.

SMU has only won one game this year, and TCU only put up 11 first downs and 156 total yards against them. 2 less 1st downs and 33 less total yards than ISU's offense on Saturday.

I have no clue how this game is going to turn out, but it looks like it has the possibility of being a defensive grind, thus the lower point spread.

I love our D, but can they perform like that on the road if our offense sucks it up again? I mean it is different when you are at home vs on the road.

Yeah, I haven't lost all hope on this team like some seem to have already done.

I can't see the offense getting much worse, so I won't be counting our guys out of any game. I certainly didn't think we'd beat OSU last year, but if I thought a win was impossible I wouldn't have been in JTS that night!

Agree. What was it, 10 extra minutes the Tech O had in Time of Possession? That's got to change, and it starts with the O cleaning up and taking care of the ball. You just can't do that in this conference and expect to win.

I think ISU exposes TCU in a bad way this weekend.

Hope you're right. Would get our guys back on track for a big-big year. Needs to happen. The question is, what will cause it? QB change? O-line and RB's block better? Better play calling on the O? Clearly, the ISU Offense MUST have a huge improvement to win this game.

And I'll tell ya, if Barnett starts and we find a way to win.... we all will be feeling great again! But, whomever is in there....just take care of the ball. GO CYCLONES!

I wouldn't bet on this game until a starter is announced for ISU. If it is Jantz I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bet on TCU and lay the points. If it is Barnett I would be more inclined to bet on the Clones and take the points. The bottom line is that a QB that has turned the ball over 26 times in 12 games simply doesn't have what it takes to get the job done at this level and has proven that.
