Is My Standard Being Raised?

I’m disappointed (not discouraged) with being 3-3. Not all of that is on the players or coaches, but this team has the talent to be 5-1, maybe better.

Rain cancellation in 1st game put us behind the 8 ball as far as development. The punted shanks vs Iowa hurt big time and likely cost us the game due to poor field position, something the first game would have ironed out. OU had an additional game under their belts for development purposes than ISU, and still it was a close game until the end.

Yes, the standard is being raised! But let's all just take deep breaths and enjoy the ride. We are Iowa State, one of the worst teams in the P5 historically.

CMC has put faith, hope, and passion back into the largest revenue producing item at our university. The stock market is on it's longest winning streak almost ever. Now is the time when our donors should be opening up their pocket books and shoveling $$ into this program or we may loose all of this momentum!!!

If we are loosing momentum, we should tighten it.

Field storming is good for recruiting and better for building future fans. The students love it. And we are Iowa State... we're supposed to be all about storms (and fields). Sirens and all!

This. I know 8 people who attended their first ISU game Saturday night, they are hooked. The atmosphere, game, and fan support was outstanding. The fan base is growing. Cyclone Nation be proud!

After the first series for both teams both ways I was feeling that 'reality' come around but once ISU got settled in and they didn't blink by the 4th quarter, I was actually more ticked that they didn't win 42-7.

This ISU team still needs a complete game, which means 6-6 that I thought would happen would be a disappointment looking forward.

The outside world saw 1) Iowa State and 2) 2-3 Iowa State so thinking it's a huge upset over #6 is reasonable. If ISU continues to win this way then things will take care of themselves for people noticing and recognizing it. ISU has to earn that kind of respect, which is OK. It was on the table for them to be 4-2 or 5-1 right now.

Repeating but the field storming is fine although it really didn't feel as crazy as previous big wins. If the young people that don't know what it's been like don't want to, let the 'seasoned' fans through so they can go bananas.

I understand that in the eyes of the "outside" world that Saturday night was an upset, in terms of rankings, record, etc. But I whole heartedly felt like we were going to win that game going into it. I'll never say I saw that performance coming, but I truly thought we'd win. In full disclosure I'm the ultimate "homer", but the product on the field and the last two years performance says there isn't a team in the Big 12 we can't beat. Big 12 Championships are in our future.

Also, I was a little disappointed we stormed the field. Makes it feel like we're still in the cellar of the Big 12.

I like this feeling and look forward to more wins!

Lastly, as the amazingly drunk (but funny drunk) guy in front of me Saturday night said..."OUR TEAM....IS....BETTER THAN YOUR TEAM!"

I just find it interesting that OP joined in 2013, but is listed as "New Member."

Get your post count up, bro! :)
