I understand that in the eyes of the "outside" world that Saturday night was an upset, in terms of rankings, record, etc. But I whole heartedly felt like we were going to win that game going into it. I'll never say I saw that performance coming, but I truly thought we'd win. In full disclosure I'm the ultimate "homer", but the product on the field and the last two years performance says there isn't a team in the Big 12 we can't beat. Big 12 Championships are in our future.

Also, I was a little disappointed we stormed the field. Makes it feel like we're still in the cellar of the Big 12.

I like this feeling and look forward to more wins!

Lastly, as the amazingly drunk (but funny drunk) guy in front of me Saturday night said..."OUR TEAM....IS....BETTER THAN YOUR TEAM!"

Mine was raised last year. I expected to win and I expected ISU to be the better team.

I’m disappointed (not discouraged) with being 3-3. Not all of that is on the players or coaches, but this team has the talent to be 5-1, maybe better.

This was basically our last chance to storm the field this year. Wins over top 10 teams are supposed to be fun.

I wasn't shocked or surprised one bit by the win.

I think the biggest part of "raising the standard" is not getting blown out anymore - it sounds simple and stupid but when you play every game close you have a chance to win every game.

Its also a big part of developing a program's momentum.

Its one thing to lose. Losses happen. But those big blowout losses just suck all the energy out of a fanbase.

Field storming is good for recruiting and better for building future fans. The students love it. And we are Iowa State... we're supposed to be all about storms (and fields). Sirens and all!

I found myself realizing this before the game. It was the first time in my life I had ever gone into a game against such a highly ranked team thinking we were going to win and it felt weird.

I thought we were going to beat TCU last year. God, last October was the best month.

Truth. @CyTwins posted this in a hoops thread today. MBB recruit with members of our MBB and WBB team on the field having fun. Love it.

Let the kids have fun, could not care less about storming the field.
Do agree about last year raising the standard. That's why preseason I fully expected us to beat the TOE.
