Lots of things to clean up on running defense. Iowa would have 250 yards rushing if we were playing them today. Tons of work to do this week.
I like that we have a strong WR core. That is how teams have been able to beat Iowa (think Purdue). But need to be able to stop the run and get off the field on 3rd down or Iowa will just bleed the clock
If Iowa has a 75% 3rd down conversion rate it will be a long day
Their defense is really good. Ours isn't. I don't like our chances. I hate this game every year.

Our offense is pretty good. There’s is not.
Our offense didn't look very good today. Theirs looked like a train wreck the first half. However the 2nd half they were clicking. Their D looks to be tough again, ours may be a work in progress.
Our d line better play better.
Kaleb Johnson will shred us if we play like today. And Lachey will own the middle with the way our linebackers are playing. I really hope I'm wrong.
ISU has no chance. O and D line not physical enough
28-10 Iowa unfortunately...not feeling good about the DL or OL matchups at all.
Iowa 7-6. ISU lines up for a game winning FG, but as is tradition something stupid happens and the football hits a bird causing it to miss the uprights.
I agree with this take. It’s easy to use the first game to project how the season will unfold. But teams often improve the most from weeks 1-2.
The team in October/november often is no where near the same team in late August.
And while it would be great to beat Iowa, it’s just a non conference game.
Imo there tends to be an overreaction either way with the first game.
If ISU wins 45-0 yesterday it doesn't mean things will be rosy in 6 weeks. So much can happen with injuries, team dynamics, etc as the season goes on.
I can't tell if ISU has much for real potential but I'm still guessing 7-8 wins some how.
