Iowa State and Texas Tech Respect

Like I said, this is your board so I completely understand the slanted views. Tech boards have slanted views, and RaiderPower definitely represents our fringe extreme element. I don't know the culture of this Iowa State board, but our rivals.com board redraidersports is a much different element of our fan base and they have a whole thread over there talking about how great Rhoads is.

The internet in general usually brings out the extreme's from fan bases. I never expected to come here and have Cyclone fans lay down and act like Tech will destroy them. It's sports, it should involve passion and banter, you should expect your team to win.

Do you guys have any message boards that I don't need a subscription to see?

RaiderPower.com, but like I said, it contains a smaller fringe element of our fan base(a lot of Leachers hang out there).

Just in case you wondered a portion of our former fan base has split off and now supports Mike Leach and Washington State over their own University. Pack of idiots. It really sucks having a split fan base, but winning cures all. If Tuberville can consistently win our fan base will come back together.

What do the rational fans think of Leach? I've seen the die-hard Leachers (as you call them), but I've also seen the polar opposite. Where do the rational fans sit? Is it somewhere in between?

If it helps at all I really hate Gene Chizik(Is that name allowed here?). I think he's a terrible coach, a cheater, and his success in 2010 was largely due to Tuberville's recruiting. I think he's completely screwed now that Tuberville's recruits are gone, and it's been a joy watching Auburn crash and burn this year.

I am not sure why Tech would demand any respect whatsoever. They have had one memorable season in their history? It is not like we are talking about the university of Texas here. It is texas tech, a school that nobody even knew existed until the big 12 was formed.
To be fair, I would say the same about ISU if I was from texas. So who cares. go play some football.

I'll search raiderpower more tomorrow, I have school in the morning

It's a very complicated subject and I won't bore you with all the gory details, but the rational Tech fan wishes Leach well and is glad he found a job and moved on. I've moved on, he brought recognition to our University and program, but his ego took over. I think he hit his coaching ceiling in 2008 and he'll never reach that level again. He got arrogant, lazy, and just didn't recruit or capitalize on the '08 season. That's part of the reason we struggled last year. I'm glad we have Tuberville, hope he can stick around.

I will be honest and sincere for the first time in this thread. I feel this is a great board, and most people that post on this board are pretty on spot with things. We have our doomers, and we have our a holes, but 90 percent of every isu fan is good ****. So we don't need 5 boards.

I've already stated multiple times that I really like and respect CPR, and the way he goes about his business. I've also said that ISU just came in and whipped us last year. We were outplayed, outcoached, and out manned.

I think the game comes down to the turnover battle and we're going to have to work hard to win.

Its our message board, we can say whatever we want. I am going to be likely hammered Saturday night at the game, I promise you I wont respect TTech now or then, you know why because I am not one of the ones strapping on a helmet. The last 2 times I watched or cared about a TTech game is when we curb stomped you the last 2 years.

I'm suspecting you are likely hammered right damn now...amirite?

A lot of them are also blaming the coaching transition but fail to realize that we have had Rhoads a whopping one more year than they have had Tubbs.

Im sure they are better. So are we. They have the ego of Texas with the athletic resume of Baylor.

This. Well said here.
