Iowa pees down it’s leg

How long before Tim Lester loses his shine? We've seen this story play out before. Iowa hates their OC, he leaves, they hire a new one and he's the golden boy for a season or two, and then the fans turn on him, he leaves, rinse/repeat.

O'Keefe, Davis, Ferentz, and now it's Lester's turn.

Enjoy your time in the sun, Tim. It will not last.

I got a chuckle out of the studio guys at halftime. Iowa scores 21 points and they're effusive about Iowa running a West Coast offense. They scored 3 points in the 2nd half, wonder what they called that offense? The Brian Ferentz offense.

I listened to the Hawkeye radio broadcast while at work.

In the pregame, Angerer said “you can tell who the Iowa fans are because they have longer beards and are double fisting their beers.”

Dolph added “Double fisting! I love it!”

I hope someone snipped that clip.
It'll be on the varsity app.

Angerer was very complimentary of us after our game with them, so I’ll give him credit for that. But he is absolutely horrible as a color guy.
Really, really bad. He does a decent job of adding fb insight, but he’s constantly cheering and rooting during the play even while dolphin is trying to spit out what is happening. He needs to be muted until it’s actually his time to talk.

On Twitter, their fans moved right past the result of this game and beat the dead horse of Mizzou backing out of the bowl game in 2020 and a home and home series they had agreed to back in the 00s.

The best part about Iowa losing today was that Kirk Ferentz fell below the .600 win percentage that’s needed to make the Hall of Fame. He would need to go 9-4 next season to get back to that mark.
But, but, but "bowl games don't count" according to some hok media folks.

I think the stat of not beating a team that finished in the top 25 since 2019 is the more damning stat. Cause with the preseason rankings being so much about names and not performance, you’ll get the occasional top 25 win that isn’t really a top 25 team.
Like when we beat them this year? LOL

I’ve been indifferent about Ferentz over the years since he is basically bland toward ISU unlike his predecessor Fry who reveled in running up the score and then gleefully rubbing it in post game by declaring “it’s a Hawkeye State”. Ferentz has been very successful in sending OL, DL, LB & DB’s to the NFL but for all that success his QB & WR development is shockingly abysmal. The last 3 QB’s have been Spencer Petras, Deacon Hill & Cade McNamara. I challenge anyone to find a consistent supposedly top 30 program that have identified that talent to be their QB 1’s In succession. I don’t recall any D-1 program who trotted out a 6’4” 270 lb OL as their QB1 such as Hill. Sullivan may stop the trend but he’ll never live down the brain cramp QB sneak.
