I've been asking a lot of questions about this today and I'm basically getting two different answers....

"He should fire his agent/hired the wrong agent."

"I have no idea. Stunned."

A lot of the above in different words.

The good news is that most people I've talked to believe Jacksonville is a great landing spot for Allen. The Jags did draft a receiver, DJ Chark (6-3, 187) in the second round. However if you look at Jacksonville's current roster (including Allen), Lazard is the biggest WR on it by 2 inches. Point is he's unique to the franchise, which should help him in the preseason.

Allen's a high character kid, hard worker. He will be fine. I truly believe that. I just hate that he had to sit through not getting drafted like that though. Really ruined what should have been one of the best days of his life.

It's too bad he didn't get drafted, but I'm pretty sure he's going to get paid (prolly not CW coin, but still paid;)). I'm guessing he is going to be fine in the long run probably even better than being drafted late IMO.

So who is his agent and who else does he represent?

Michael Parrett was the agent out of element sports group.

From what I can see they had 4-5 guys drafted. Highest being #37

No P5 player is under the radar. How does an agent matter?

It isnt a matter of under the radar...several teams may have been on the fence with drafting him at any point and want the agent says could sway them for good or bad.. Not to mention there is a whole lot of selling that the agent is supposed to do to teams who are most insterested the weeks and months up to the draft..Agents play a huge role when it comes to kids in the 3rd round and later..

I feel like the situation in the long run will be fine for Allen, I just feel for him because I sure it was hit childhood dream, and it never happened when it truly should have....

He’s got some questionable attributes, but so do most after the first couple rounds. Sure he could be positionless, but you would have thought someone would take the chance that he’s a mismatch instead.

The NFL helping destroying ISU football program in that they are saying to recruits, no matter how good you are at that school called ISU, we WON'T draft you. So recruits will always look elsewhere first, so screw the NFL. Hakeem Butler, Montgomery, Lima and Bailey better start playing like beasts because nothing is given at this moment if you are an ISU player.

This echos what Chris said. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...-state-football-cyclones-nfl-draft/562780002/

Reading up on it I don’t know how his agent turned his uncertainty of position into a weakness. I get it when our guys get that in the NBA but I just flat out don’t get how it is a negative in the NFL.

This was my first thought as well.

Watching the first day of coverage, they raved about the "flexibility" of lineman. For some guys, the ability to play guard and tackle was a huge plus.

I don't see how this could be any different. You have a guy with the size and ball skills to split out wide, with the frame and potential to be a guy you could bring inside on occasion. Is it better to have a 6'1" 195 pound dude that can only play in the slot? I just don't get it.
