I saw this on Twitter as well. This whole thing has gotten out of control. First, I hate trying to take the emotion out of the game. You get a dunk and you look at someone and you get a T? In this kids case he didn't even do that. He smiled and looked at the support for the basket. Literally did nothing.
The other part of it I hate is how inconsistent they call this. After Lard's few technicals, I've started paying attention to "taunts" that refs let go. It is all over the damn board. I've seen kids yell, scream, flex, etc. and not get anything called. Then you see something like this.
I get reffing is hard, but they make it harder on themselves than they need to by doing stuff like this. Drop the ego and let them play.
