I honestly don't have words...

Every piece fits. Need defensive intensity and try to get the lid off the basket? Bring in Batemon. Need a change of pace and someone to draw a few fouls? Bring in Nelson.

Nelson might have won the game yesterday. We were down five, looked stagnant and were turning the ball over a lot. Brought in Nelson and drew a foul, made a layup and then drew another foul. Had he not gone into beast mode, Purdue maybe stretches it out to double figures.

I said a couple weeks ago he would win us a game or two! Just that instant offensive change-up - his drive game is way different than Tamin's. He's a bigger Keyshon in a lot of ways. Guy is a hypersonic missile to the basket.

He comes in for ~4 minutes, and you have to defend a whole different offense basically. Meanwhile Tamin and/or Toure are resting up. What a luxury for TJ.

This team is so deep at 1-2-3 spots its unsane.

Need to play more games, but this team has the possibility of being even better than last year's team before the injuries set in. Need to prevent injuries, stay disciplined, and focused - and it could be a very special year if that all happens.
Possibility? This group is already much better.

Especially on offense, where everyone is more confident shooting (Heise and Milan, in particular). But I think the defense is improved too with Toure and especially Buchanon. Buchanon is a much better fit for the defense than Dishon Jackson was - speed > size.

He'll turn it over on the drive occasionally but it will likely be deep to the hoop and could almost be taken as a missed close shot that ISU can recover on defensively vs. a run out by the arc.

It's still a threat that ISU really hasn't had in a long time.

His ability to go end to end puts a lot of stress on a defense.

I see scenario where Tamin and Jefferson are on the bench exhausted because they played 30+mins, Toure is in foul trouble. Mommy has gone cold. We need a bucket. Nelson pulls a Colonel Nathan R Jessup because we have nobody else.

Nelson is kind of a poor man's Keyshon. Not the defender or outside shooter, but kind of the same attacking the paint. Super valuable for us. I've always thought one thing that makes a team really good is having a slump buster. When shots aren't falling, do you have someone that can get you a basket or free throws. We have two in Nelson and Jefferson getting to the rim.

Again, memory fails tho Keshon offered some disruption, beyond "stupid" hoop attacks.
Suspect the same from Nelson minus the Keshon drama. Knocking on wood.
