If you don't know that yellow signs are always advisory, you shouldn't be driving.
Probably just using Pledge to make it look nice for opening day.Kind of odd the only thing keeping it from being open today (Wed) was paint and there were a couple lifts with men in them doing something on the pillars and underneath the bridge.
While I understand they are "advisory" speeds so are orange work zones, these are considered "safe" speeds. I do know if s cop wants to he can ticket someone for going an "unsafe speed" for conditions. If you don't know that yellow signs are always advisory, you shouldn't be driving.

So, as of 5:30 this morning, the new fly over is still not open...
Yep, and not just on game days. The first time I actually tracked those entrances on Hwy 30 west I was "appalled" for lack of a better word. I don't understand how four lanes of traffic merging at virtually the same speed and location (with an exit option very close) is safe.I can't believe they made it 2 lanes and will have the SB traffic merging with the right lane of the NB traffic immediately.
Lane 1 - 30 WB
Lane 2 - 30 WB
Lane 3 - 35 NB
Lane 4 - 35 NB
Lane 5 - 35 SB
#4 and #5 combine right away at the end of the flyover. Then there's about 8-9 seconds at highway speed before #4 becomes the Dayton exit (exit only). Then another 5-6 seconds until #3 goes away, just in time for WB traffic entering from Dayton. That whole space will be a cluster on game days.
Word is it's finally open.
Who is going to drive over it with someone recording to post on here?
I made my maiden voyage on the flyover about 15 minutes ago. It was glorious, never had a better view of Ames.

Yellow advisory signs for curves -- loaded semi trucks take heed. I always add 10 and still feel very safe. I never expect to be pulled over for an advisory. While I understand they are "advisory" speeds so are orange work zones, these are considered "safe" speeds. I am not saying anyone follows these speeds, I just always figured that in truth if you were caught or in an accident going faster you were going to be at fault for going above the posted speed.
