Huggy is losing a scorer

What is with all the players transfering out of WVU the last 2-3 years? Must not like playing for Huggins.

He wants to move back home which is Indy. Notre Dame or Indiana the probably the best bets for landing spot.

That is a HUGE kick in the nuts for them. That kid could light it up from 3. If I didn't hate him for what he did to Morris I would love to have him.

No official yet but.
Possibly make that Huggy losing two top scorers. WV has some problems and would makes more for why Harris decided to jump ship. Monte must be smiling somewhere if this really happens. (For the record I think Staten should stay due to size concerns)

Along w/ LaQuinton Ross, hearing Montrezl Harrell, Rodney Hood and Juwan Staten will all declare for the Draft.

Ha. This thread is full of Cyclone envy.

I won't poison my mind by actually reading the thread, but I'm just going to assume that those dolts figure all they have to do is land the transfer and it'll result in instant success. The second and more difficult part of going the transfer route is developing the talent and figuring out how to coach them. Fred and co. are excellent at that. Fran and his staff...good luck with that.

Wow, Losing Harris hurts enough but if they lose Staten as well thats a pretty crippling blow. Its bitter/sweet as its a lot of competition that we wont have to deal with going forward but would have also loved to see Staten develop in the Big 12.

Any news on possible landing spots? I hope nobody takes him, although it's probably not likely. Check out this thread too

Wow...please don't link a thread there again. A whole lot of stupid in that thread, but I guess somewhat entertaining as well.

There are really some dumb people posting there, and some that are just making stuff up. Yes, ISU is on probabtion for the phone call recruiting violations, but they fail to point out that Fred was the one who discovered the problem, reported it, and that ISU took steps on its own to discipline itself. DUH.

Then the other things these morons don't realize is that this is how college basketball is operating now and will operate until, and if, the rules change. Fred did not invent the transfer. He was just smart enough to take advantage of the rules. There are over 400 transfers each year in college basketball. Is ISU taking all of those guys? If Iowa does not want to participate, or if their coach is not smart enough to see how other teams are succeeding, then that is there problem that has nothing to do with Fred.

They act like Fred is just taking anyone interested in ISU, baggage and all. That is not the case. These players go through a detailed background check and discussions with their former coaches and others before Fred takes them. We may never know how many transfers he has turned down because of what he has found out about them.

Finally, the last thing that these mental midgets don't seem to understand, because they never address it is that these transfers to ISU, no matter what their pasts may have been, work for ISU because of Fred. His personality, the freedom he gives players, his calmness, and his coaching ability which includes the ability to improve players is a major reason these players succeed, and with that ISU succeeds. Now, this same approach may not work for guys like Mad Fran, but that is not Fred's fault either.

Like I said........there is a whole lot of stupid in that thread, but then it is Little Brother, so I guess it is what we should expect for years to come.

Now, back to the original topic of the thread.

This is HUGE loss for WVU. He was probably the most promising player they had coming back, and is the kind of a player you can build a team around. Maybe the Big 12 is just not Huggy's cup of tea.

Someone ought to inform Hawk fans that was not an altercation, it was completely aggression from Harris. They make it sound in that thread as if Morris had something to do with it besides receiving a blow. I personally do not want this guy. I do not want the Hawkeyes to get him either, the rivalry is already heated enough to add that guy as timber to the fire. Leave him to some other conference.

Harris going to Iowa would be comical, as they are a team with chemistry issues. If that were to happen, I would predict a heavy dose of train wreck.

Have you seen that guy coach, or in post-game interviews? He's such an as*hole*. I can't imagine how he is in practice everyday. I'd leave to, especially after seeing how Hoiberg coaches.

Staten is gone too? Wow, WVU just went from looking like Big 12 contenders to middle/bottom of the pack again.
