people were crucified on here three weeks ago questioning our strength of scheduled and defending pollsters for not putting us higher than 9.

Now people talking about losing out.

Carry on, Cyclone Fanatic. Carry on.

Posted this in the game thread. Indiana won today so it’s a pretty exclusive club with just us and Vanderbilt. 10 wins? Doubtful the way the coaches are prepping this team every week.

It was so clear we were frauds all year. Even in our winning streak we hardly ever put a full complete game together. We just were beating bad teams, which we can’t seem to do now.

Embarrassing honestly. So much fun for 7 weeks and then the lack of pass rush and running attack caught up. Once again our line of scrimmage is awful.

I don't know, with these injuries guys we can't be competitive defensively against an offense with a heartbeat. Maybe Utah and Cinn are that bad, but if guys don't come back we aren't a competitive defense right now. Nobody's fault, it's just how it went.

It works when your 3 guys can get pressure on the QB. We aren't doing that even when we blitz.
Really surprised more wasn’t planned out in the off season for pressure. The only thing I can think of is that Bacon was supposed to be the primary source of pressure on blitzes and they just never felt a need to adjust because we were winning.

The vibe here in KC last night was that most Cyclone fans expected us to lose today. It was hard not to see that this team is flat out struggling lately. The point I kept making as well is the fact that UCF and Tech are not good football teams.

I'll ask again, did it work when they were 7-0?

Would it have been better to have one less body in the back end while there was still no pressure?
with the way they ran and passed all over us, would it have mattered to at least try something different? It was like watching a guy at the blackjack table stand on 10 every time.

These opinions are actually 100% consistent. We were overrated from fattening up on a weak schedule, and now with some harder games we could drop them all.

The idea would be that we would get more pressure using 4 instead of 3. Before the injuries to the LBers and in the past, our LB could cover up mistakes and come up and make the tackle, but even in the past we have allowed teams like Baylor to light us up throwing the ball.
The defense needs tweaked enough to allow us to get pressure on the QB.

I voted for 2 more wins, we will get Cincinnati this coming week, and then I would guess Utah, KSU will give us fits with the way their QB runs the ball and can throw it.

Maybe Cincy, but doubtful. Bowl win next to impossible because we know how well CMC does in them after a long time to prepare

Pretty crystal clear we need to recruit or portal-find better pass rushers. The 3 man front works when they can get pressure. Impossible to expect our secondary to cover receivers for 6+ seconds
