How does tailgating work

Ok - serious answer. Sounds like you're meeting them - so you'll have to walk over to their tailgate area? Things to consider. How far will you have to walk? Do you plant to take anything back to your vehicle? If not, will they be able to keep your stuff in their vehicle until after the game?

Consider what all you do/don't want to pack to their tailgate and what you want (or don't want) to deal with when you're done tailgating and rushing to go in for the game. Not wanting to deal with much? Pack food in disposable containers and/or take food that doesn't need to be chilled/cool. If you want to pack more and are willing to take things back to your vehicle before going in to the game - I recommend using a foldable wagon to haul it all. Or at least have something easy to carry it all in.

IMO if the tailgate isn't next to you, at your vehicle or just a couple vehicles down - keep it simple and easy.
Also, remember some trash bags. It's likely the few available cans will be filled to overflowing, so be a good neighbor and stash your trash before putting by those cans. And separate bags if you choose to collect cans/bottles. You can leave them for others to pick up and recycle/return for cash.

We are meeting them, yes. Hoping to get there early enough to just park next to or nearby, but that is just kind of a coinflip whether it happens or not. Plan was just to prepare something, cold dish, and pack it in a cooler. Depending how far away we end up parking, I will probably just ask if I can stash our cooler in their truck bed until after. Cooler is on wheels so probably won't need a wagon. Appreciate the suggestions!

Thanks, folks. We should be pretty easy to pick out on Saturday.

You realize there will be more people in the parking lots than the stadium holds, right?

May just be my computer, but I'm not getting any sound with this clip. EDIT: Never mind...it was me. I'm an idiot.

And, welcome - be relaxed and friendly. Nearly every ISU tailgate will welcome someone like that.
