My Dad would make them that way for us growing up. I haven't followed suit in my older years, whether for sake of forgetfulness or being lazy.

PB first. Even across the bread. Not too thick. Knife in sink.
Spoon on the J. Spoon in sink
Spread thinner layer of the J with new knife until perfect across the slice. Knife in sink

I don't like this combination myself but made a lot for my kids. I like peanut butter on bread, but not with any jelly.

Now what flavor of preservers or jelly? My wife likes raspberry or strawberry. My son grape only. My daughter wanted surprised but couldn't be peach. We have five or six flavors at any one time in the fridge.

I can’t believe people dirty two utensils to make pb&j. Do you use a spoon for cereal and then pour any remaining milk into a glass as well?
I knew someone in college who did that and it made me cringe. Just no.

I'm curious - have any of you ever made BS sandwiches?
Thin layer of peanut butter on slice one
Thinner layer of butter on slice two
Brown sugar in between.

The butter is there to keep the brown sugar from falling out, and to keep the peanut butter from sticking to the roof of your mouth. I know it sounds weird, but there's little difference in sugar content between brown sugar and jellies/jams, Unless the jelly/jam is sugar free...and if you buy those, I don't want to know you!

I can’t believe you people are contaminating ingredients like it’s nothing.

Do you cut up raw chicken and just wipe the knife off on the side of the cutting board before cutting lettuce for the salad?

Knife for peanut butter, spoon for jam.

That sounds like a load of BS

Do you typically eat raw chicken and salad together? I don’t.

Skip jelly and make a PB and banana sandwich like every other sane person.
