Did anyone else watch his body language tonight? He was clearly upset and was visibly shaken right from the start. During the under 16 TO in the 1st half he distanced himself from the team, had his head buried in his hands and had a towel over his face. In the second half he was on the bench and had his head covered with a towel and between his knees, and Edozie and Matt were patting him on the back trying to console him. Something was clearly wrong with him, but I don't know if he was just frustrated or had an off night or what. He had 2 points, only shot twice and turned the ball over 4 times in just 13 minutes. Seemed out of character for him, just wondered if anyone saw it or had any insight.

He was probably just thinking ahead to all the stupid posts he'd have to wade through on Cyclonefanatic if they lost. That'd give anyone a case of the Mondays.

He didn't have a good game and he really doesn't match up with Baylor well.

He was on his feet and waving a towel from the bench when we were getting out to our 7-8 point 2nd half lead do he must have been feeling better by then.

He had some dumb turnovers and Baylor started hitting their threes about the same exact time Hogue came in. He wasn't really an offensive threat tonight either (probably related to the zone D, as I think his one basket came after Baylor went more Man to Man late in the game) so probably just a rough night. Frustrating loss but hopefully the guys will bounce back with a road W in Manhattan.

When 3 of your starters have terrible games (Hogue Niang Long) it's tough to win.
This 100%.

Hogue, Naz and Niang: 19 points (6-19 from the floor, 1-10 on threes), 13 rebounds (only two for Hogue), and 10 of the team's 12 turnovers. Pretty damn bad.

In comparison, I thought McKay, Thomas and Monte were our three best: 43 points (14-23 from the floor, 5-9 on threes), 13 rebounds, two turnovers (Matt has 30 points and no TO's in his last two games).

It's very hard to win when three of your starters are putting up very below-average numbers. Naz has been off recently IMO, not sure if it's related to the hip pointer from a few games back but he seems to be less aggressive since Matt stepped up.

I'm wondering if he might be sick? We didn't see him in the warmups.

This was my thought as well. Of course he was cheering when we were making our run, but that doesn't change the fact that from the very first timeout he was completely disengaged. Wonder if we'll find anything out later.

The EXACT thing I was wondering as well. I don't have twitter but I asked my wife last night, can you check and see if anyone is reporting that he has the flu?
It wasn't Baylor, something was way, way off with him. He had 4 TO's, 2pts, 2 rebounds in 13 minutes. That's very uncharacteristic of him.

One of the trainers was working him over hard trying to stretch him out before the start of the 2nd half. No idea if that's related to anything or not. As Fred said in the post game, most of the team, Hogue included, really seemed to let offensive problems linger on the defensive end last night.

I'm not sure.

He came out very late in the warmups (the formal one where the cheer leaders lead them out.). He was also being worked on by the trainers.

Id bet he is fighting an injury.

Definitely wasn't himself as he did not rip the ball out of anyones hands or get tied up. I said we d be fine at half because first half was all Thomas and McKay and the others would wake up. That didn't happen. Seems to be a theme in most our losses

The last several games he has been getting heavy duty stretches by trainers on the floor by the bench. We noticed last night that he was wearing full length leggings. Injury is plausible, but there just seemed to be an overall malaise about him. I miss the fierce Hoguey badger...

I thought he's done that for quite a while?

I hadn't noticed the full length ones before...they kind of stood out last night when we were looking for him. Maybe I just missed them before.

Wouldn't be the first time I've been exposed as unobservant! ;)
