Hilton update...

Please upgrade the concessions themselves. Ours are an embarrassment and behind every other facility I have ever been in. And it’s not even close.
Moving the concessions to the outer perimeter allows them to offer more food options. The can vent grills to the outside. That wasn't possible with the interior locations where you are pretty much limited to warming foods that are pre-cooked.

We talking steak and potato dinners during the game?

I heard they are making everything bigger so we can find them in the dark.

Fairly simple modification, encasing the building in a giant store front glass wall. gives you immediate extra space, and a visual upgrade. Glazier bid will be nice and hefty.

I really want to see them expand the south entrance out farther to create an atrium of some sort. I think you could move Johnnys down there and maybe turn Johnnys into a more premium area. I think that you could also put a fan store in there that could have more variety.

That would be an interesting concept.

Pollard was just interviewed on DsM sports radio about Hilton renovations. Some items:
  • Want to enhance fan's experience. Started with parking improvements near building but wanted to impact more fans.
  • Improvements brought up when raising money for new sports performance center. Donors mentioned Hilton needed improvements as well and sounds like some contributed money for such.
  • Major improvements are expanded concourse and vented concessions stands as well as new mechanical systems. Last flood meant two lower levels of Hilton had to be redone so was actually start of needed renovations.
  • Aesthetic improvements also important to update and move from bunker look.
  • Has vision for entire area between Hilton and Trice. No details.
  • Renderings released are preliminary. There will be changes.
  • No new scoreboard at present.
  • They will look at expanding Johnnies but it will be expensive as new space will need to be built
  • No alcohol sales anticipated. Feels it has been done by others to improve attendance. Also university leadership is against.
  • South end zone landscaping project is done. Emphasized this is a university, not an athletic department project but athletics gave 10 million to fund it.
That's all I got....FYI.

I've been told that the current concessions layout and size is what prevents more selection. That could be BS, but I would expect them to introduce a lot of new items once construction is complete.

Please bring back COKE!

I think the renovations look GREAT! It definitely adds more room, softens the look with the lighting, but doesn't really change the look/shape of Hilton... only enhances it!

Thought exact same thing. For how long it took and what appears to have been done (or not done) I don't blame him.

Yeah, iirc that was more of a leath project, im not sure the AD would have done that (and lost the parking) had it had a choice.

I thought the Reiman's footed that South of the stadium work this time (again).
