They don’t go three deep at districts. They went to 12 districts instead of 8. The last couple years, they didn’t announce who was at what district until deeper into the wrestling season. The one at Ogden had over half the schools with over 90 minute drives to get there, so they didn’t shorten it with more districts also.
I wish they would have went to 8 districts. Then the next 8 highest rated wrestlers qualify. I know the reason for 12 was because of hosting issues but there were plenty of weak districts.

Like Assumption qualifying multiple kids with less than a .400 win %? I think their heavy weight had a bye into the finals. Won 3 matches all season...and 1 was at districts.

The Ross kid from Ft. Dodge is an absolute stud. Would be nice to pick up some home grown blood.

I don't know if it was IAwrestle or Flo...but they panned the crowd mat side during Arnold/Nat match and Carr and Johnson were mat side cheering like crazy. Cool to see...5* culture at Iowa State

Hard to believe Ross is only 15. He is built like a full grown man.

Did he earn the right to twist a kids ankle and injure him in a football game? Kueter is a great athlete. Not so great human.

Kueter posted a picture of himself and the rest of his football teammates this year.... and stated below it.... "A man amongst boys!".

Go ahead and be cocky an arrogant..... but don't put down your fellow teammates.

The kid is an amazing athlete, no doubt, but has not handled it very well. A lot of other kids with amazing talent are much better humans off the field/court, etc.

Hasn’t he wrestled 195 and 220 at Sem? I wonder how that plays out long term cutting weight after having so much success not cutting. I’ve seen it go both ways in college having to be disciplined and wrestling with less energy.
No, he wrestled 170 last year. He cuts no weight to make 182. Wrestled up for the challenge.

That sucked. And man that 1234 gesture of GA after the match. Here’s to Naak humbling him in the future.
That was for beating Naak 4 times. He never wrestled in GA. This wasn't his 4th title. He wrestled in the prep system before this year. First career state tournament.

Right? If he was just sick that’s one thing but he seemed totally fine until he went down in a heap there after the SEP guy got the escape. Did he get an elbow or shoulder to the jaw or chin on the backside (away from the camera) that gave him a bit of a concussion and that’s why he went down? And if so, with how much he was stumbling around and barely able to stand at times it’s irresponsible to let him stay out there if it was indeed as a result of a blow to the head even if it was seemingly minor contact
He seemed fine coming off the mat making noise and such.

Yep, I was referring to the four victories over Naak. GA = Gabe Arnold

He won didn’t he? Nick is going to UNI (not a surprise).

And his brother won, freshman.
A couple other kids at Osage worth keeping an eye on though in Kittleson and Stangel. Also think that the Smith kid, ( Not sure on name), from West Hancock, and younger Rinken from Nashua Plainfield could grow into some good prospects. The older Rinken should be fun to see at UNI along with Nick Fox.

Going to be tough to pull anyone from Osage with Schwab being an Osage guy.
