Hello from Fort Worth!

Hello Cyclones -- Creators of the Electronic Digital Computer, and lovers of all things Soybean.

It's been a year since I have ventured to your board and I return in peace.

If anybody needs info or advice on where to stay in Fort Worth for the game, how to get around, eating places etc. feel free to send me a message.

I wanted to make the trip to Ames last year but couldn't, hope to go next year. IIRC Hickory Park was a restaurant I was told to check out when I'm up there. Still on my list.

Hope for a good game and no injuries. Should be a fun night game.

We have this poster named @GTO. He lives in your area. His wife “takes classes” in Vegas and will be gone so he is sponsoring a kegger at his place the night before. Only problem is his wife gets mad at times and chains him to his water heater downstairs. So you may come in handy if you have a bolt cutter to get him loose.

Bring out the gimp...and let's party

I'll be down in Fort Worth Thursday through Sunday. Staying in the Stockyards area.

  • Where is the best Texmex? Local not chain. Does not need to be "upscale".
  • Are the Octoberfest festivities worth checking out?

Dos Molinas is close to the stockyards.

Torchy's Tacos or Fuzzy's Tacos would be good choices too even though they are chains. They both started in Texas, Fuzzy's original location is next to TCU, and Torchy's started in Austin.

My drinking days are behind me so I haven't been to the Octoberfest here, however if you post the question on the TCU fan forum killerfrogs.com I'm sure you'll get a good answer for that.

A Fuzzy's Tacos opened in Ames a couple years ago. I knew it was a chain but hadn't realized it started in Fort Worth.

OP, you had to mention HP, didn't ya?

Should be a good game, but I think the 11 point line is pretty accurate. ISU is still sorting out Offensive issues. They managed to move the ball last week but couldn't finish settling for two 20 some yard field goals and two 30 some yard field goals to go with their two TDs. Your defensive line will give this Cyclone O-line headaches.
