Heat v Bulls

If you are given an even payout across the board, what team do you bet on to win the title this year?

Not having 5 starters on the floor at any point in the season is going to hurt the offense, especially when your 2 best playmakers in Rose and Noah are the ones most often injured.

You're not allowed to say anything positive about any team unless they are the best in the NBA, which the Heat clearly are.

It's totally different than being a Cyclone fan on the board where you can speak well of ISU even though we're never national champs. If these Heat fanboys were consistent, every positive comment about ISU football or a good single ISU football game would need to be shot down because Alabama is better.

Considering the last two years we've had around a .75 winning percentage I'd say we could compete for a title if we have all our parts.

Are you talking about the Bulls? Like I said they overachieve during the regular season because they play as hard as they can on defense night in and night out, which is the sign of a terrific coach. It's just a little misleading because when other teams take it up a notch on defense for the playoffs, the Bulls are already maxed out. There a very solid, well coached team, they are one of the top teams in a weak East but they are still a step below the true title contenders.

Just because you keep saying this doesn't mean it's true. I don't think there's anything to support defense getting better in the playoffs, Considering the Mavericks won with JJ Barea, Dirk, and the Jet as major pieces and none of them play a lick of D.

"The conclusion that should be reached based on the tables is that playoff defense is better relative to the regular season and has been becoming increasingly better from the 1980s to the present."

SportStatistics: The NBA Playoffs: Does Defense Really Improve? (Part 3 of 3)

Do you remember watching the Heat beat the Bulls 4-1 in the ECF after being swept by them in the regular season two years ago? Most teams pick up their level of play a little in the playoffs, I don't think the Bulls are already maxed out.

And the Mavs did have those guys, but they also had Shawn Marion, DeShawn Stevenson, Tyson Chandler and a coach who was terrific at switching defenses. Combine a slightly above average defense with an offense that was playing at an elite level, and their success is easily explained.

Lebron's *****ing about refs is priceless. He should take a look at what the Piston's did to MJ in the 90's. Once again Lebron has proved he is nothing more than a whiny little *****.

if somebody is gonna beat the heat, it will come from the west.

Spurs, Thunder, Clips, Nuggets and Grizzlies will give the Heat problems.

Only team from the East that can give the Heat a run would be the Pacers due to their balance. Heat in 6 if that's the conference finals.

I was a college student in Chicago in the 80s. Loved going to the old Chicago Stadium. Your post reminded me of this story.

One night the Pistons were doing their usual thug thing, but the Bulls were winning handily with 98 points. Near the end of the game, Bill Lambier clobbers Jordan on a drive, sending him to the line. It was a night when you could trade your ticket for a donut or something at a restaurant chain (I forget the detail) if the Bulls scored 100. Jordan stepped to the line and sank two free throws with the crowd going nuts even though the outcome of the game was determined, but we wanted our donuts! It was like Jordan went around the stadium and gave each of us a donut ... and gave the "bill" to Lambier. It was awesome.

Joakim noah got in trouble for shooting a 3, when the bulls were up like 97-79 because he was tring to get the people free tacos.

I love it when they do things like this for the fans. And back in the 80s, a donut or a taco really meant something. I used to watch Michael Jordan for $3 (standing room only tickets for students were half price for end of season games against Cleveland).
