Hawkins says he'll be at CU next year.

SAVE DAN HAWKINS!!!!

We need a win in Boulder next year.

Good Luck CU, Beat Nebraska. I would not be surprised if Colorado wins.

If this game could save him....that would be great..... I love beating CU and watching them crumble throughout the year with him.

Confirmed now, but changes will be made. According to this, their AD basically couldn't find anyone better.
Colorado:
FootballCoachScoop has BREAKING NEWS and the FIRST TO REPORT that Head Coach Dan Hawkins has been given one more year in a deal with
Athletic Director Mike Bohn and the University, according to our source. We have been told to expect some changes with the current staff though. Also, our
source confirmed that in talking with future head coaching prospects Athletic Director Mike Bohn could not get who he really wanted for the future.
FootballCoachScoop sources also tell us that DiStefano and Bohn will meet one more time, in regards to Coach Hawkins, after the Nebraska game to
confirm this is the absolute direction.

I have a client whos a fairly wealthy individual from the Denver Area. His son is a big booster for Colorado and is pretty good friends with some of the big time donors. He told me last week that Hawkins was as good as fired after starting the season 1-3 and a loss to in state rival Colorado St. He told me that there are 3 people being jammed down the throats of the university officials. Frank Solich, Turner Gill, and Brent Venables. He said the reason they want 1 of those 3 is because they want some one who is familiar with the Big 12. He said that they would really like to get Solich or Gill because they understand Bo Pelinis strategy and would have a better possibility of competing with Nebraska for the north... Just specualtion but an interesting point of view from someone with ties to the program.

He is staying...can't afford to get rid of him...can't afford to keep him. It is a wash. Might as well save face and give the Hawk a chance.

CU's situation is way better than KU's though. They could probably land a really good coach if they wanted him gone.

FootballCoachScoop is a silly website that has popped up, hoping that you get it confused with the legitimate site: FootballScoop

From what I can tell, FCS's sole purpose is to make unsubstantiated (or already obvious) "breaking news" announcements to attract attention to itself.

I'm not so sure about that. CU's problem is that they don't have a lot of money. They are in debt bad. Even though alumni groups were raising money for Hawkins buyout and had enough for the buy out, they probably did not have enough money to hire a decent coach. The debt they have is really hurting them.

KU is probably in a beter situation becuase the problem there is just getting rid of one guy.

They will give him one more year, with some new assistant coaches, to prove himself. They can't afford the buyout and a new coaches contract this year. The buyout next year will be less and they may be in a better financial situation to bring in a better coach. We'll see what happens officially at the end of the season though.
