Marv was a neighbor of a guy I worked with. Really good dude. Had beers with him a few times and heard his story of that night in Ames after the game. What he remembered that is.

I was there. I ate an extra ticket, as I could not sell it for even face value. lol. At least, I had a little extra room to celebrate!

Of course I was there for the Nebbie game....before the game Bob Devaney told everyone that this Nebbie team actually was the number one team in the country.....When ISU was ahead late in the game, the realization came to me that we were going to beat the actually number one team in the country....LOL....When Marvelous Marv went on his run it was the dagger that broke Devaneys heart....the heartless old coot!
