Looks like Alex is moving on from the sports world. I really enjoyed his coverage of recruiting.

Damn, really liked Alex. Depending on who replaces him, I may have to cancel my 247 subscription.

I'm in the same boat. Was just coming here to see what the paying members are thinking of CW's insider information he is sharing. Any input would be appreciated!

I do not have 247 as a comparison, but I have enjoyed it greatly so far.

Premium members got to hear Sage Rosenfels talk last night about watching NFL film with Brock Purdy (and much more). Pretty cool.

CF is still going strong, but with Montz and now Halsted leaving journalism it's a tough break for ISU coverage.

Alex provided the best unbiased ISU analysis IMO and no other outlet came anywhere close when it came to recruiting content (No Offense Jared and CW)

Weird deal. I had a Scout account while Alex was there and got an additional account when 247 hired Trey Scott. Trey leaves 247 and Alex comes so I ditch scout and go solely to 247 as well as my free account here I've had since 2011. Looks like my 247 subscription is probably done. Can anyone honestly tell me if we can get the same kind of info on the private boards here as we did on those sites? If so I'll pry start paying here

No offense at all. Alex was phenomenal in football recruiting coverage. We aren't a recruiting service like 247 is. Not really our primary focus. Alex is my buddy. I wish him nothing but the best and he can write for CF part-time for as long as he wants.

Always enjoyed hanging around Alex at ISU events. He really knew his stuff.

I have been very lucky to be in a position where I can call Alex a friend. He will absolutely thrive at anything he chooses to do and I don’t say that because he gave me my first Iowa State centric byline (on the hockey beat for the Iowa State Daily in 2013). I’m excited to see where he can take his new opportunity, but I (and the rest of us who cover the teams day-to-day) will really miss him on the beat.
