We are having a discussion, about a former Cyclone player, that is having BEYOND considerable success in the NBA.
Pinch me.
Ps. Don't follow NBA, beyond "headline stuff."
What up, with TH being designated as, "most overrated?"

Other players don’t like him. That’s the long and short of it I think.

Other players see a relatively un-athletic guy playing in an offense that caters to high offensive production and they're jealous he got a max deal and they didn't

Parts Unknown
He's a great strategist, communicator, and motivator. Sometimes his substitution patterns and in-game calls leave something to be desired. He falls in love with some decisions and is too slow to switch up.
I don't think he's total dog$hit I just think he's underachieved with a lot of teams in the past.

Minimizing? I mean it's not like it was a swish straight up.

What would you call the Pacers' performance last night over the final 15?
What would you call Haliburton's performance last night? Couple of his shots rattled.

I didn't watch real closely but looks like he was great.
Yes, good thing making that choke sign didn't cost the Pacers this one. I thought he "rocked" last night. "Great" isn't the word I'd use. Doesn't quite capture the fact he did something no one else in NBA history has ever done. No turnovers with the #'s he put up with that triple double? Tyrese is on an epic run in these playoffs. What he's doing doesn't put you in "star" status. Haliburton is becoming a "superstar".."legend" with this run.

Checked NY sports media (Boomer and Gio) and they showed clips (and were aghast) at all the absolutely no one in the picture defense the Knicks played.

The same team that absolutely stoned the Celtics in the clutch.

OK. You've been waiting to get those grievances out for a while here it seems.

That all sounds great and fun for people who care about lot about the NBA.

I heard on a Ringer pod (maybe Rusillo?) that someone did the math on that "Overrated" players vote. Based on whatever percent Tyrese got from whatever number of players polled, it was like 10 players who voted for him out of 450ish in the whole league.

I don't usually watch the NBA. I care about ISU basketball and you're being short sighted if you don't see how this benefits ISU. If you don't care about the NBA or how Tyrese is doing why are you replying "semantics" to me and starting some nonsense about word usage? Trolling maybe?

Kinda going off a ledge here a bit. I'll give you a run down while you get some coffee or something.

Can you please cite or explain how or when I've said I don't think this benefits ISU or how that has anything to do with not really following the NBA closely?

-I think it's great for ISU to have someone do so well in the pros. He reps ISU a lot to add on which is great. That's likely even better for those who follow the NBA.

-Imo (and this isn't saying I hate Iowa State athletics!!!) the 'choke' thing by Miller was overplayed in the long run since the Pacers lost that series.

-I thought it was overblown to do that for the first game and only saw the clip of the shot going way up in the air off the rim and falling in. Luckily it worked out for them to get up 3-1 after the Pacers, um, didn't close out the last game.

If you'd like a little more grievance filled take I've got a few but not about the NBA.
