Watching the Gymnastics team in Tuscaloosa against Bama, Arkansas, and Iowa. Top 2 teams move on with 1 more rotation to go. Any one else watching?

Disappointing result for sure. Really cool to watch them. It didn't help that a few Bama/Ark girls were having career performances. Ended with a respectable score.

Great season. I am more optimistic about our gymnastics program now than I have been for 15 years!

Does anyone want to see Gymnastics become relevant again?
We had strong Gymnastics many years ago. We’ve been mediocre at best for too long! It may be time for some focus and a change in leadership. No reason Gymnastics can’t move to the height’s wrestling has is there?

Current coach has been there 17 years, taking over after the 2006 team made the "Super 6". The prior coach left to take over at Oklahoma. Here are the NCAA appearances.
1994, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022
So, current coach has led us there 10x in 17 years. Not sure changing leaders right as we are on the upswing makes sense given he has a pretty good track record

Much of what gave me optimism in anticipation of our team two years ago is back. We got so much experience last year for young gymnasts because of injuries. I'm hoping we get the veterans back healthy and have the benefit of young gymnasts who got ahead of the game with experience. However, my goal is to make Regionals. I don't expect Nationals.

Even Jackson and Prohm had pretty good runs after Cael and Hoiberg. So 1 appearance since 2016 gives us optimism? That's 1 NCAA appearance in the last 7 years. Remind me what Kindler had done before our current staff? Super 6 her last season. Why wouldn't that be our goal?
There are only 62 D1 Women's Gymnastics programs and we've been ranked outside the Top 20 the majority of the last several years. What are we now 30th. Why aren't similar results to wrestling at least expected? Softball has over 300 teams, 2 years ago making the Top 25 that's optimism.
Gymnastics isn't soccer, in our history we've been really good. I know very few care.

Are we ok with today’s results? Triangular and lost to West Virginia and Towson. A couple powerhouse programs!

We just lost to Central Michigan. Seat has to be getting warm or hot?

W-L doesn't matter in gymnastics. Rankings and postseason qualification are calculated wholly from team scores.

That said, anything less than 195 is bad. Ideally, 196 would be the floor for a team that wanted to make any postseason noise.

Ironically, both teams were ranked similarly coming into the meet, but only Central Michigan seemed to thrive on the energy of the B&B, especially at the beginning of the meet.

Oh, my. Team scores had been getting better, generally, over time. We didn't get to any meets a year ago and only the Beauty and the Beast this year.

Not qualifying for regionals and only sending one individual is bad. I'm not sure what the roster looks like. We've at least been competitive in the past.
