That email is from April.

Oh and apparently decades worth of supporting black athletes and treating them like family means nothing if you buy a t shirt liberals don't like.

Good God

Stumbled upon this from a sports director at a station in Tulsa:

The terms of Mike Gundy’s new contract are official.

The OSU Board of Regents approved a revised 4-year deal, different from his lifetime contract, that includes a $1 million pay cut. Gundy is now set to make $6.75 million in year one. That million will instead go to athlete revenue sharing.

The contract also has provisions that Gundy be more involved in fundraising and donor initiatives. It includes a plan to identify a head coaching successor, and to assist in that transition.

Gundy would be owed $15 million if fired during the next three years, and $10 million if fired during the final year of the term.

Am guessing that we see Gundy at minimum 3 more years then. Identify his successor is a very bizarre contract provision, no?

It almost seems like they're forcing him to go to events and forcing him out in a few years.
I agree, it's weird.

The Big 12 without Gundy will be weird. If nothing else, his DGAF always gives us something to talk about.

I thought we've speculated on this board that he's kind of been in a mood where he has one foot in the door and another. He's been here for a while so I think he may be approaching retirement, and this contract kind seems like OSU is going to push him in that direction.

He's also used his agent to fleece the AD. How many pay raises has that guy received just from his name getting tied to open jobs. Gundy is kind of dirt ball IMO.

If that's the case, I am REALLY curious to see what Campbell's new deal is... maybe the same?

Lol, I can see him at events "I'm here so I don't get fined" lol

The help identifying a successor seems like a way to respect what he's built, but also seems like could create issues (I suppose the AD has the ultimate say).....if that was in Kirks contract he would have identified Brian lol

I don't know if he's fleeced the AD. OSU football has been pretty good under Gundy. In 20 seasons, he's won 10+ games 8 times and went to 18 bowl games (won 12).

All his events will be at a restaurant called Mullets I’m guessing.
