I just want to say, that we had a great experience at K-State this weekend. We did not spend time going out around town but in our time around the stadium and tailgate, the local fans were great.

Numerous times K-State fans made an effort to come over to my wife and I, just to say Hi and to thank us for coming to the game, and welcome us. This was really a great gesture, and made us feel really comfortable and welcome. I thought they had a great atmosphere, and I noted a lot of similarities but also our differences too.

The size of the Jack and the ease of the design of decks and concourse of the Jack was apparent to me when comparing Bill Snyder vs Jack Trice, But overall it was a nice stadium. Every stadium has its quirks.

But overall the people there really stood out to me. I had a great conversation with a K-State fan in the stands, as well as in the parking lot. Some very nice people there. Definitely glad I made that trip, and recommend it to anyone that has not done it.

@surly I have to compliment you on your fellow fanbase.

I’ve never had an issue with a kstate fan except for online rubbing going too far. When I visited Manhattan it was like cousins visiting each other that didn’t know they were related.

The only reason to be mad at KState is sports results and in the grand scheme of things that doesn’t really matter

There’s a really small, weird EMAW obsessed subsection of the internet, but other than them, the KSU fan base seems fine.

To me, there is probably an accentuated comradery between the fans of the Remaining 8 of the Big12 these days. Certainly K-State has been a good rival historically and of late. As much as I want to beat the Pokes Saturday, ditto.

The Remaining 8 are all in the same boat/ship at the moment. I wouldn't say I love them all (Baylor, Kansas come to mind for various reasons) but the respect is there. OuT is another story.

Glad you had a good time. Sounds like the K-State fans were great.

Did you hit on your cousin in Manhattan? It’s not inbreeding if you didn’t know it at the time, right?

If they were just sending stuff back and forth online, is that still above board?

I had a buddy who worked for the K-State Athletic Department right out of college and a very inebriated Clonefan32 went over to see him during the game at Arrowhead. Somehow I wound up in the K-State student section making a bit of a fool out of myself. To this day I thank the good people of the K-State student section for not beating me to a pulp.

I also thank my buddy's higher-ups for not firing him.

Threads like this make me miss the Big 8. We had such a good thing going back then...I mean in the '70's when we were actually pretty good at football.

The realignment in the old days made some sense...AZ school to the Pac 8, South Carolina to the SEC, PSU to the Big Ten...now it's just this power/money driven blob consuming CFB while ISU & KSU fans have to sweat relegation. It's all so f***ing stupid now.

Same here thought their fans were very friendly at Aggieville and at the stadium.

KSU fans are generally really nice. I went to a basketball game there a few years ago during the Kane year and there was a nasty blizzard rolling through. The fans our group talked to were concerned about us heading back that night and were very kind.

That's why I'm always campaigning for Colorado State. Geographically, culturally, they make sense. Too bad their football program has been consistently mediocre since Sonny Lubick.

KState IState and OkieState fans are all pretty good. Have had great times at both schools.
Eskimo Joes is very high up my list of best college bars.
I've made the trip to Manhattan 3x and had nothing but great experiences. I'm thinking about going to Norman. I've never been to a game there and would be taking my elementary age kids with me. What is that experience like?
