That's by one of our better sports journalists and authors, John Feinstein. I miss his short lived national sports talk show. Couldn't get the ratings because it was not bombastic or controversial or stupid enough for talk radio. Guy had great guests and smart talk rather than controversial guests and shock talk.

Anybody who could spend a year with Bob Knight and still write a factual but neutral book about it has to be a great journalist. I've enjoyed all of Feinstein's college BB books, and his golf books as well.

Agreed. He was planning to build Toledo into a Boise-type program long term. As in, a consistently excellent non-P5 program.

The corollary that most people reading this haven’t caught onto yet is that he decided to ratchet that up a notch.
