I have posted in Reddit and the Google Nest Community...haven't gotten any feedback at all yet. Thought I would take a shot here. I have used a Google Home setup for a few years now...the simple explanation of the issue is that Google Home kicks my devices out of their assigned "rooms" on its own. Then they won't/don't function as they are intended. Almost daily I have to move the devices back into their assigned room and in the case of a couple of Chromecast devices I have to enter my password again! Guessing this is a long shot here but thought I would post what I asked in the Reddit forum and see if any of the good members of the CF community might give me some direction:
Over the past few months my Google Home ecosystem randomly continues to remove certain devices from my Home setup and labels them as "local devices" which are not assigned to rooms. When this happens I often have to verify my account by reconnecting with my phone (usually with Nest Hubs) or putting my password back in (on Chromecast with Google TV streaming devices). Occasionally one of my points will be removed from its room and assigned as a "local device". This ONLY happens with my Google products. My third-party devices (lights, smart switches, Alexa hubs, etc) NEVER get removed from a room on its own. This is frustrating as it happens almost daily! I have a Google Nest Wifi router with 3 points. The mesh test always checks in at "good" or "great" connection.
To troubleshoot I have individually factory reset specific devices which doesn't seem to be the answer. I have restored EVERY device to factory settings and re-added them to my Home. I have even deleted my Home and started over with a different name for the "new" Home. Nothing seems to prevent this issue from occurring.
What am I missing or not doing correctly? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
