Sounds like he’s getting the redshirt. Consider me very skeptical that we ever see him be a meaningful contributor for ISU again. Hope he is. Love watching him wrestle.

I thought that medical redshirts were not determined until after a career was over and then you could apply for a medical redshirt to extend said career. Correct me if wrong.

Rules implemented in 2018 changed things. They need to apply immediately and start documentation. Not positive on timing of granting it though

Seemed like this was coming but hard not to feel bad for the kid. Hopefully he can get himself completely healed up but long term health has got to be a priority.

KD mentioned the medical rs shortly after the concussion took place in an interview. Not sure why everyone is thinking he’s on his way out because he’s applying for the rs. Am I missing something???

Concussions can be a nebulous bastard. Symptoms hang on for a long time or they don’t and increased sensitivity for future ones never goes away. All I hope is that he takes care of himself and if he can come back to the line up and raise hell, that would be a great bonus but can’t be a priority.
