Garage Door Issue

The remotes will open the door but not close it, is that correct? And the wall button operates the door normally, i.e. both opens and closes the door?

Correct.

Remotes will not open or close the door. Wall button operates normally, no problems.

Press and hold the inside button. Hold it until the door moves over halfway the way. That should override any auto stuff and get it into a reset mode.

If the light flashes when you press a remote the remotes are synched and resynching will likely do nothing. Try holding the "doorbell" button down a long time or until the light flashes. Otherwise try unplugging the main unit for a few hours to try and reset.

The two flashes highly likely to be a signal telling you the main unit is ready to program an opener, in your case the remotes. That seems to be a fairly universal signal, have had 3 different openers and that was the case with all 3.

As to how to program them, you need to refer to the manual to find out how to do that. It's likely that there are buttons under one of the light covers, that you need to access and push or hold down after pressing the button on the remote, but different models have different programming processes.

Sometimes after you've programmed an opener it will lose its programming for some reason, and will need to be reprogrammed. So, might want to keep the manual handy until you've done it often enough to remember.

If all else fails, wait for the announcement of the new football uniforms. It will then either either work as it should or go into hibernation mode.

So this did the trick! After trying all kinds of stuff (thanks everyone) the answer was that my remotes randomly became unsynced. Possibly due to a storm? We haven't had any power outages or anything like that. Strange.

I didn't think it was a sync problem at first because when I would press the remote buttons the light would flash. That indicated to me that they were talking. However you're exactly right, it indicated a re-sync was needed. A few minutes later, and my garage door opens/closes with remotes again!

Thanks again for all of the help. Hopefully this thread helps anyone else that has this happen. Happy 4th!

Speaking of garage doors, we've had the same garage door and opener for the last 14 years. A few years ago the bottom panel of the garage started rusting. Talked to the garage door people and they said I would be fine with just replacing one panel. I thought this would be a good time to also replace our opener. Our bedroom is right above the garage and it nearly makes you jump out of bed when someone pulls in. I went with Chamberlain belt drive unit (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Chamber...Opener-with-PLUS-Lifting-Power-B750/301887758) and couldn't be happier. I really should have done this a long time ago. It is so quiet.

We did the same thing last year. Although it can still be heard/felt in the rooms right above the doors it is MUCH less than it used to be and is unnoticeable in most of the house.
