An onboard scuffle involving two Auburn men's basketball players forced the team's plane to turn back shortly after takeoff Friday, sources told ESPN.
I heard it was a Star Wars vs Star Trek fight between the players
If you get into a fight that causes a plane to divert, don’t you get put on a do not fly list? And wouldn’t that then make being a CBB difficult?
I had the same question in another thread. I looked it up and couldn’t tell if diverting a charter flight gets you put on a do-not fly list.
I did see though, that the federal do-not fly list only applies to terrorism-related reasons. Airlines have their own do-not fly lists for unruly passengers, but it’s usually limited to that individual airline.
So, my guess is Auburn will have to find a new charter company, but they can still fly.
They probably have a contract with the charter company for all sports. They don't simply find a new charter company. That company won't release the lucrative contract.
Coach is going to have to hire a first grade teacher to make a seating chart to handle things instead.
Charter flights fall under part 135 of the FAA Rules, scheduled airline are part 121, so different rules.
