Anyone ever shipped a single piece of furniture cross country? I bought a desk in Georgia, wondering the best way to get it to Ankeny. its 30x60, adjustable height, probably around 150 pounds

Case of Mountain Dew, U-Haul $20/per day van, and fuel costs along with a Jerry Reed song of "Eastbound and Down". Probably DIY for around $300.

Strap it to a pallet and find an LTL carrier. LTL carriers are pretty limited right now due to Covid though. Nobody wants to make that many stops. They can be found but it might be more expensive than usual. FedEx and UPS will ship LTL on a pallet.

When my mother passed away my sisters had a decent amount of her furniture shipped from Virginia to Connecticut and the estimate was $1,800
The woman I was working with uses UPS to ship furniture and she says you will not get a better deal. It just needs to be on a pallet.
