Friday OT: Hearing is Believing

When I was younger, I used to pronounce mediocre as med (as in medical)-i (as in fit)-core (like an apple).

I used to drive my mother crazy when I purposely would mis-pronounce Filet Mignon. I would say "Fill-it Mig-non."

My maiden name was Leinweber. When my father was dating my mother, her father struggled with pronouncing it (seriously, it's NOT that hard). He always referred to my father as "that Lion tamer boy".

Another that came to me: Don Ameche is easy to hear as "Donna Meechy."
