How can you not like Tom Hanks?
Maybe this guy.... but unfortunately probably not.
I shouldn't say I don't like him... I don't know him personally... just don't care for his acting at all.
Good thing the question was whether they were universally liked, not about your personal preference for his acting.
I liked him early on in his career, but when he started doing movies using accents, he was not very good. He comes across whiny today during interviews, and his current streak of movies has less than stellar. For the record, I don't hate him, I'm just tired of him.

The work he does for disaster relief is fantastic.
In that same vein, Willie Ray Fairley out of Cedar Rapids. He helped out so many after the Derecho, and now will travel to large scale disasters so folks can eat.
