FRIDAY 11/20 SNOWSTORM

PEN 15 ?

The first sentence of this "news story" is so terrible, it hilarious. "It's know of a tradition here in Iowa, before the storm hits you head to the grocery store.

And their picture is of a grocery store checkout area with lines no more than 1 deep. LMAO.

I don't understand the mass freak out over groceries for a normal winter snow. At any given time we have a minimum of 3-5 days worth of normal food sitting around. And its not like this is some super blizzard, the roads will be cleared within hours. Yeesh.

what, they are naming this **** "Bella"?

God, if weathermen and their never-accurate forecasts weren't bad enough, now they're all into Twilight too?!

The mass freak outs and stupid news stories get out of hand. This is 2015, not 1950. And I wouldn't even really worry even if it was 1950 unless it was supposed to be a blizzard.

I can only see it being an issue for people that live out of town, and only then if its a massive storm. I live in the middle of town, Fareway is 6 blocks down the street. If I'm dying of starvation, I think I can make it there and back.

I understand it some as I get older, although I would probably just send one of my kids to the store so I don't break a hip. It's the parking lots that scare me, I figure I have had enough kids, I don't want to test out my bones too much. Our Hy-Vee in particular just seems to like to pack the snow down into an ice rink.
