Curious what Metcalf meant about Carr getting his oil changed
Guessing he means it is just a routine thing. Not a major overhaul.

Curious what Metcalf meant about Carr getting his oil changed
Thanks for the link! Great stuff there. Hopefully this team can continue to respond well to Dressers message. I know Fresno St. isnt a great team but its encouraging to see them go get bonus points.
I agree. Degen was not a blue chip recruit, but he has went R12 and 7th in his fresh and soph years. He was able to do that precisely because of his style. If he’s too hurt to wrestle, that really stinks, but I don’t see a lot of success in his future without his funk. What exactly does changing his style entail? His offense off his feet is so damn unorthodox that I worry about it limiting his effectiveness to get those slide bys and scramble as efficiently as he was pre injury
I think what Metcalf was getting at was geared mainly towards his diving in. He really focused on that aspect of Degen.I agree. I didn't take what Coach M said as not using his funk. If anything it's moving more toward funky scrambles and unusual techniques. As another poster commented I think it has to do with not getting his arms extended and getting caught underneath on his belly. I'd expect more slide-by's and short arm drag's, two on-one's, foot sweeps, etc. I think he doesn't mind it when someone gets in on his legs because then he can scramble and roll and use his length. You won't see him shooting typical single/double legs. I'll predict that some will criticize him for not being offensive. However, those that really understand the sport will know that he's initiating his offense. IF anything I think the change will create more funky positions much like we saw in the Fresno match. One thing's for sure, Degen has a lot of fight and he never gives up.I agree. Degen was not a blue chip recruit, but he has went R12 and 7th in his fresh and soph years. That’s a good take. One thing about a Degen match is that it’s never boring or not entertainingI didn't take what Coach M said as not using his funk. Totally. He’s going to come at you for the entire match. That’s a good take. One thing about a Degen match is that it’s never boring or not entertaining
