At press conference, Dresser made the point that Fresno hwt, AJ Nevills, was the big 12 runner-up last year. Also, I note he was ranked in at least one poll. I hope the rankings this week recognize Gremmel's performance.

Can anyone share how the post meet social was, what was all said? Would have loved to make it but had to be on the road right away after the dua.l

Social was fun. Dresser just went through and pretty much said every wrestler competed hard, and sometimes you learn more from losing than you do winning (157/197). One funny comment he made was referencing Colbray going back to "old Sammy" at the end of the second (where he gave up a takedown that he definitely should not have given up), but he corrected it in the third and pushed the pace. You can definitely sense that Dresser is proud of this group and is excited to see how they continue to improve.

Gremmel has surprised me a little thus far. I don't see how he is anywhere near the top 20 though. Per the media release, he was 16-7 coming into this meet. I only had him down at 12-7, so I must have missed a couple. Either way, he has a couple bad losses and only a win or two worth noting. He has loss to 3 ranked guys decisively and has not beaten any that are ranked. Hopefully he will get some bigger wins down the stretch.

Not exactly sure.

When you have a coach who gets this, you have a guy who can coach and develop his athletes. You don't want to lose, but if the player gave effort, you definitely can learn what and how to fix the mistakes. Now it's up to the individual to listen and work on that. It seems we have a good group willing to listen and correct issues.

Good recap. To take it a step further... Dresser when speaking on Colbray, mentioned something like... "for 14 seconds Sammy lapsed back to old Sammy. The rest of the time he was aggressive and pushing the pace."

I'm glad to admit that Colbray is making me eat some crow this year. After watching him in prior years, I didn't think he had much of a future and wondered if he even cared. Now, I think that he's completely turned around his style and is aggressively pushing the pace. He looks great at this new weight. It's mind blowing... he's 14 seconds away from being a contender and I'm confident he will continue to improve. Congrats to the coaches and keep it up Mr. Colbray!

Colbray is so explosive when he wants to be. Can't remember exactly when it was in the match but I was starting to think he was looking disinterested or lacking motivation. Right on cue he hit a ridiculously quick duck under that left me shaking my head. So fun to watch Sam when he shows what he's capable of which he has done majority of the time this year.

Yeah that duck by Sammy was impressive. I never knew he could move that quick!
