Hahaaaa! I had the luxury of one older brother...when he got dropped off, it was a river of tears...with me...GTFO, dad and me are finally free!

(perhaps that says something about their preference between us...hmm....)

*edit...nope, I got it...they were crying because they dropped him off at UNI, knowing they'd be stuck nursing him for years to come...me at ISU...he good to go!

:biglaugh: Probably was UNI. No, each of my boys has gotten the valley of tears freshman year. After that, I have been able to restrain my blubbering to the car ride home, except oddly enough, when the oldest started grad school, once again I was bawling in his apartment right in front of his roommates. In my defense, he is about 1000 miles away from home.

I wanna thank those who suggested to leave my dorm room open. I did this and it worked out great. My roommate is a dud but thankfully I've made really good friends with my floor-mates.

My freshman roommate was terrible as well, but that's not always a bad thing. You just go and do your own thing with your own friends and you don't ever have to worry about spending too much/too little time with the roommate, how often to include them in your plans, etc. You just happen to share a room, and as long as you can coexist, you don't have to be friends.

Just thought I'd resurrect this old thread with the new school year coming up. This will be my first year at ISU. I move into Maple on Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone had any new advice for a freshman like myself. Here's my class list for reference:
An Sci 114
Biol 101
Econ 101
Econ 101L
Econ 110
Math 160

I appreciate any tips!

My tip is that you'll get a 4.0 with that schedule.

My next and last semester is gonna be a joke. Need 12 credits of anything you graduate. Finished all my requirements. Just need the credits. Gonna take that alcohol class, walking for fitness and that roller coaster class I think

Walking for fitness was such a joke. I'd walk to Kildee with another girl and hang out in the Reading Room.

I feel sad that you don't get Kenealy throwing candy at you in 114. I wonder who even teaches that now.

What's your major? I'm a little surprised you aren't in Bio 211 - can make it tough to schedule going forward if you still need that too.

If they still have it, I'd also recommend billiards if you need a PE class.
