I know some of you have listed these before from previous experiences but I can't remember the places that were suggested. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Been using freetaxusa.com for years.

Federal is free, even with HSA, 8086 backdoor roth stuff, 1099-DIV, 1099-NEC forms

Iowa return has been something like $15 in the past

taxhawk.com. Used it for years but now have to pay because of the wife's business.

Same company as freetaxusa. Not clear why they offer two products that appear to be identical under two different names.

Unrelated: if you're a spreadsheet geek, check out excel1040.com. You can't file your taxes there but it's a great tool to plan or monitor during the year.

Free tax usa is $15.99 per state and federal is free. I just completed mine. Super easy to use, even for me.

Add me to the switch from TurboTax to FreeTaxUSA camp. Our taxes aren’t too complicated, basically just a W2 and several 1099s (INTs, DIVs, Rs) and it was pretty easy. The PDF upload of last years taxes and the various forms worked surprisingly well and really cut down on what needed to be entered. You do need to check the values though because I did have one value get put in the wrong box.
