Fred's New House in Chicago

An article I saw yesterday gave the street (60th) and by google maps satellite view you can find Fred's house based on the shape of the house, and that it was a construction site when the satellite pic was taken. But go into street view and it shows the lot with a typical "Iowa middle class" 2-story house. I hope someone got a pretty pay day when the developer wanted to buy his little house and build a mega mansion.

Guess I'm not middle class like I thought. Hello upper lower class!!!
I would only want that if I was alone in a forest, or up in the mountains, or on a ranch in like the desert, or on the southeastern coast. Somewhere where it would be interesting to walk through the big house and see different views and environments. Not suburbia upper class Chicago.
Looks kind of pretentious but I suppose he has to entertain pretentious people.

Basically a new house made to look like some sort of turn of the century revival house.
Is that real slate roofing or a reproduction? I hope they used a quality product here as the less expensive ones would make for a costly replacement. But I don't see them in the house for mire than 3-4 years.
I think you need to make a 3 point turn to get a car in the garage?

It's very interesting he chose to live there - Burr Ridge isn't poor by any stretch but as far as more upper class suburbs go in that area, it wouldn't be my first choice. Surprised he didn't go to Hinsdale or something.
