I think he is, but it reads like someone that regrets going to ISU, for whatever reasons.
You’re probably right. Always hate to see someone have a bad time at ISU, but that’s the only explanation that I can come up with.
I think he is butthurt over the many arguments he's started with fans on this site which has led to him actively rooting against ISU so he can get one over on the posters he has a beef with. It's pretty pathetic.

We had a guy like deadeye on our floor. Was an obnoxious jerk during cy hawk games. right before osenbaughs match with Banach he was pointing at his Hawk shirt sure that Banach would pin osenbaugh and the squawks would win. When Osenbaugh pinned Banach we looked and he slipped out. He didn’t have the guts to sleep in his dorm room next three weeks. I can picture him being deadeye.

Yep, Mr. Soundoff John Sears is telling fans to let the Campbell stuff go and move on but its ok to attack the McCaffreys for being losers. Several people have pointed this out to him and he responds with "whats your point?" What an idiot.
Also, How is John Sears "Mr. Soundoff"? Isnt that Keith Murphy since he has been on the show since day 1?

The Hawkeye fan boy media fanboys don't get to say sh!t now. They had plenty of opportunities to be critical towards Fran and they all took the easy route because they are f*cking gutless. Fans are the same way. They all defended Fran for years. It's easy to take shots and your drunk hot tempered dad when he's not within ear shot....
They are gutless. And it’s not just Fran that they were silent about but Marge.
