Flying is hard

So a couple things as a pilot.
1. They walked away. That is the first priority.
2. If his story is true it sounds like he may have been behind the plane to begin with or did not have much cross wind experience in the sr22.
3. Pretty sure this does qualify as a reportable incident.
4. That is relatively cheap.

It is all a cover up which does not make me happy. Not to mention the FAA and IRS will now come calling.

Flyover?

Well if the student section was creative, they could use the programs to make paper airplanes and fly them at Leath, I was going to suggest the little Balsa wood ones but that would cost more money.

Never been a Leath fan. We're really missing Geoffroy now. If Leath is canned, it certainly doesn't make us look good, but I'm all for it. The BOR won't do it, though - especially with the crap around Rastetter/Harreld and the fact they're in a presidential search at UNI right now.

The problem is we would get someone like Herrald if leath left.

I know I'm in the minority but I think the regents preference to go with little academic expirenceid not a good one.

Leath certainly is not doing a good job of filling Geoffroy's shoes. Depending how accurate this article is it looks like he is certainly pushing the limits of what he should be doing.

I haven't looked into the Iowa situation, but what is really the problem with him? I feel like really people are just mad he isn't an academic. I don't think a non academic is a bad thing either.

Either way Leath has made questionable decision after questionable decision. He should hit the road.

I wonder how much time he has had in the cirrus. It is a very different animal from what he likely trained in - Cessna 172. Those cirrus side-sticks are interesting things.

Author- Ryan J Foley

Man, I'd say so. That's the vibe I clearly got. A lot of angled writing there. I'm sure the whole truth wasn't his agenda after looking at his last months or so work. Life is too short Never go full Foley.

It seems like the author of that article has a personal problem with Leath.[/QUOTE]

I agree with what you are getting at but I doubt it is the side stick. Everyone I have talked to that has flown one says that the side stick is a non-issue.

Leath got a lot of crap for VEISHEA and Bubu, but the political crap, the political patronage jobs, and things like this that make him seem like he is playing a monarchist role bother me more. And I will never trust the Rat who is pulling his strings.

There had better be a personal reimbursement made to the Board of Regents from President Leath or it should be taken out of his salary after reading all of the clarifications of the (un)recorded incidents' (PLURAL). End of story. Period. Then can his ass.

... makes ya' kind of wonder if he had few cocktails involved as well...nontheless = bad judgement from an expensive, supposed leader who needs **** canned. What a farce.

I know a former ISU employee who was let go for unauthorized use of an ISU vehicle. Plane? This is a new one.

What else is he covering up?

He covered up the land purchase. I know everyone thought that was a great thing, but he certainly didn't disclose that. I'm probably the only one, but I think the land thing is worse than the plane.
