Yeah...team with most points wins the game, so it seem like scoring often should be a priority. Yet for some reason, ISU keeps throwing in inexperienced people to run a P4 offense.

How realistic is it that we could hire a good experienced coordinator?

ISU has one on defense, so I would say pretty realistic.

Then maybe stop calling so many pass plays if the QB can't throw good passes. Or try a different QB (although Mouser probably doesn't get to make that call).

You don’t just dump Rocco like that unless you want to go back to the tiller days. But go off.

Tough call for Campbell. Seems unlikely that ISU will beat KU or TCU with the QB completing only 50% of his passes. Maybe OSU. Time to call the QB whisperer (whoever that is)...

Rocco has been incredibly bad but I think the play calling has been even worse. Especially inside the 20.

None of it is elite and asking for it to be is not attainable.

I will say, Carson Hansen is a very good back. He’s solid.

and if Abu could get with the program in the passing game (receiving and protecting) he’d be trending towards the top.

Rocco is certainly pressing.

As for the OC, It seems he is always trying to overthink , when his job is to maximize their weaknesses while minimizing ours. There are multiple head scratchers , especially deep in red zones…

I had a feeling Rocco would struggle this year. At Iowa State you don’t just always replace two nfl receivers. You can hope to but no way our transfer portal guys are even close to
What we lost. I don’t think our backup would fare much better

Dylan Lee is averaging 6 yards a carry on the year. Disagree.

Abu will occasionally make a 2 yard run a 0 yard run a lot though. That's been a problem with him historically. I'm worried the staff's allegiance to Abu will make Dylan Lee transfer (who breaks more tackles)

He's not getting many touches? maybe he is averaging 6 yeards? If he was trusted he should have played more today. Hanson had to have 90% of the carries, thats too much.

On a Fire Mouser thread , you are certainly correct. The defense has been put in some real terrible spots and with the huge injuries to arguably 2-3 NFL caliber players has not been the issue at the heart of the problems.

And that’s Problem with an S.

Impressive is not a word that I thought I would encounter today defining our defense.

We are always going to give up yards. What we do well is keep people out of the end zone enough to give the offense a chance. If you can't score more than 24 points it's a problem.
