Final X is this Saturday at 1pm. David Carr vs Messenbrink is the first match on the card. They have a best 2 out of 3 series to make the world team.

Lots of people’s opinions on this matchup have shifted since the US Open finals where Messenbrink won by tech. I think David made a few stupid mistakes in that match that let it get out of hand. I expect Carr to be locked in and give Messenbrink a war.

Its gonna be tough, hopefully his cardio is up to par as Mess will not stop. David could easily get the first take down and go into a leg lace for a quick TF, the longer the match lasts the worse it is for him imo. David also needs to limit the 4 point moves and probably not try to do the chest wrap defense, just give up the td.
How long will David stay in Ames with no training partners on his level if he gets beat here?

He trains with Jordan Burroughs??? What better training parter does he need?
Once in awhile when he travels . And JB doesn't live in Ames. The window isn't a big one and David has high goals . Just wondering how long he stays in the situation he's in now in Ames with no daily partners his level. Mitchell has so many partners and keeps jumping levels. I haven't seen much improvement in David over the last year

He's has been out in PA at PRTC with Burroughs for months leading into US Open, WTT and Final X. He will continue to do what he's already been doing and travel to train funded by CRTC and TMWC. You think he's going to NLWC with Messenbrink? HWC? Cowboy RTC? Yeah no.

So beating an Olympic silver champ isn’t much improvement?

Could see cowboy with Ladarion for sure they're tight. And are willing to pay RTC guys . He was in PA for months? You sure about that

It certainly does seem like the talking heads aren’t even giving David a chance.
rightfully so, he got beat pretty good at the us open and Mesenbrink has been on a heater since the loss to David his freshman year. He also is really good at freestyle there's no denying that. I've said the same thing crabs said, David made some stupid but correctable decisions at the us open against mesenbrink and can absolutely make this a 3 match series. Not a chance he beats him in 2, but he can take it to 3 and find 2 out of 3 if he's locked in. Training with JB for the past couple of weeks, let's hope he is locked in and ready to go
