Final Ranking?

So I can add Brett McMurphy to my list of people to ignore.

Well, going by that, he should have been on your ignore prior to that, since ISU was 13th in previous vote. (along with about 22 others who were at or below that). At least he was consistent between previous & this, he didn't jump anybody over us who weren't already ahead.

Indiana at 12 is an absolute joke. They are 0-1 vs. teams in his top 25. Meanwhile CC was 2-1 vs. teams in his top 25.

Other than that I'm fine with it. I do think there is some serious buoying of big 10 teams after OSU dismantled Clemson.

I don't have a problem with the CFP participants being ranked above us. Even TA&M and GA I have no beef. OU already proved it. But anyone that wants to put Cincy, FL, Indiana, Northwestern or Coastal ahead of us should just turn in their voter privileges. Point to the UL loss? Ancient history. In fact Florida's loss to LSU was much worse and more recent,

Mostly agree, i think the only team that could be justified above ISU is Cincinnati, assuming UC was properly "valued" pre-bowl, with only loss being to Georgia. I could see arguments for UC being overrated even while undefeated, though, which is a separate discussion.

Northwestern's only win over a ranked team is Iowa. There isn't much else there.

I honestly don't remember that. Any way to find a link?

Man I wish I could find it or remember exactly what year it was but this guy picked us last in the conference. It was definitely one of the really good Hoiball years too.

I think it was 2000. One writer picked ISU to finish last in the Big XII. They won it, obviously. Can't remember the publication.

Ah, that year. I was thinking by the description it was more recently.

I had in my head a preseason magazine like Athlon was the source ahead us 11th of 12 or something. But I don't trust my memory (at least not for quite a few things).

I'm pretty sure it was a USA Today article but it definitely wasn't Athlon. It was also during the Hoiball era.

5. Notre Dame
6. Oklahoma
7. Georgia
8. Cincinnati
9. Iowa State
10. BYU
11. Northwestern
12. Florida
13. Indiana
14. UNC
15. Texas
16. Coastal Carolina
17. Louisiana-Lafayette
18. Iowa
19. Liberty
20. Oklahoma St
21. Miami
22. NC State
23. USC
24. Buffalo
25. Ball State

Got the top 9 right. Flipped a few between 10-13. Surprised to see UNC drop 4 spots after a strong Orange Bowl showing vs a Top 5 team. Surprised to see Texas not jump more after an impressive Alamo performance. I think I misread and thought NC State won their bowl game when I had them at 22.. voters got the final ranking right in not including them.

Unfortunate TCU's bowl got cancelled. I think they sneak into the final top 25 with a win.
