Final Enrollment Numbers

they needed to add beds when i was in school with only 25-ish thousand students. my wife works at isu and says its stupid how many people they are letting in, and how stupid some of the are, enrollment standards are really low right now.

Your wife is incorrect. The freshman profile at ISU is as high as it's ever been. A 245 RAI score is higher than the old upper half class rank requirement.

Is there something significant with the 10th day of class that everybody waits to provide that info?
If I remember correctly from back in the day if you quit school in the first 10 days you can get all or almost all of your tuition back. So I would guess they wait until day 10 to count people who are actually paying tuition.

Besides the standards being higher than they were, I'd be a little disappointed if Iowa State tried to become a lot more selective. It would be nice in some ways, but the whole point of a land grant institution is to provide an education for those who want to better themselves. You have to have standards, but beyond that Iowa State should be enrolling a lot of students.
