So the fiancé & I won a trip to Fiji for our honeymoon from Williams-Sonoma. Trip includes roundtrip flights from LA to Fiji & 5 nights accommodation at Yasawa Island Resort & Spa. We're looking at going mid August.

Anyone ever been to Fiji? Any definite do's or don't's? Looks like alcohol is pretty much the only thing that's not included at the resort so I'm going to take some with.

Any fun or exciting stories from your honeymoon?

no tips, but I can fit in a suitcase, I bet.

If I requested that to the future Mrs, there might not be a need for a honeymoon.

Plus to get to our resort we have to take a little 10-seater plane... Would you pass the luggage requirement of <50lbs for that sucker??

Thanks. I think the current exchange is like 2 Fiji dollars = 1 US dollar. But yeah, still not cheap by any means.

edit: replying to Keep

Fiji has some of the best snorkeling in the world. We were on a tall ship that sailed around to different atolls (Tui Ti) to snorkel and it had only 7 other people on board. Have fun.

I promise to stay away during nekkid times. How long til the honeymoon? I can try to drop to fifty by then.

but how cool that you won it. I had signed up for a bunch of that stuff and never won. Well, actually one of them called like 8 months later and said I won some type of package but I had to be to the hotel in Ames to receive it one of the next two days. I was in WI by then and that wasn't going to happen. Forget what it was for.

Pretty sure that was a free house of your own design.

Yeah, ridiculous!

We entered our email address online everyday for like 2 months. They didn't contact us until like 3 weeks after the end date so we assumed somebody else won it.

Now she has this free like $5000 dress ordered & our dates are reserved at that resort. Still waiting to hear about the wedding bands & tuxedos!

Bring strong sun screen, it is incredibly easy to get a sun burn there. Definitely join in a bonfire/roast out, they usually bring out a lot of people and you can meet some locals. I recommend spending a lot of time under the tree canopies in a hammock drinking beer. Have fun

I hope you gave them a credit card number to hold your spot.

I believe that you listen to people tell you about a bunch of pots and pans and then they try super hard to sell them to you. You get a "gift card" to either a vacation or a wedding band. I use gift card loosely because I think they are nearly impossible to redeem.

this sounds about right.

they asked for my bank info, so I gave them that too.

Naturally. I was skeptical when I got the email about this, & all they asked for was a form with some info for tax purposes (including SSN) mailed to them within 7 days.

After some quick googling the address & what not looked legit so I mailed it out. Glad I did!
